Busy Fall Wedding DJ Season in the East Bay

It's been a busy fall wedding season here in the East Bay. I've had weddings to DJ in San Ramon, Benicia, Livermore and Oakland California recently. Some of them included the ceremony where I provided music and wireless microphones for the officiant and readings.

Along with a celebrity family member at one of the recent weddings I've been fortunate to work with a number of great couples, families and venues. I have also gotten some wonderful reviews added to my weddingwire.com and theknot.com listings. You can see them if you look for DJ Mike Parent on either of those sites and I have copied some of them to my website at http://www.djmikeparent.com.

As I am starting to book some wedding dj dates for the spring and summer of 2013 I do have some open dates for the rest of this year and the winter heading into 2013.

Let me know if you have any questions that you would like answered as part of my wedding planning tips here on the blog.

One helpful tip when planning your wedding and looking for your DJ or entertainment is to talk about the specific needs relative to your locations for the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. This is part of the reason it's good to meet to talk about your plans to get the correct details down for your services agreement.
Do you need DJ services for all three? Ceremony, Cocktails and Reception
Will extra equipment or equipment moves be needed to provide services for different areas for the ceremony, cocktails and/or reception? People sometimes forget to account for the cocktail hour if it is in an area separate from the ceremony or reception area and would need a separate sound system set up.
What time is everything scheduled? Do you want music as people arrive prior to the scheduled start time?

Please visit http://www.djmikeparent.com/ for more information about my wedding and event services. Also email me at mike@djmikeparent.com to set up a time to talk about your plans and service needs. I look forward to working with you on your most special event.

End of Summer Wedding Season

It was a busy but great August with some fun weddings around the Bay Area from Oakland to San Ramon to Livermore. Fortunately the weather cooperated for an outdoor wedding also which had a slideshow that went very well as we started just after sunset.

Now we are into a relatively quiet September with a busy October ahead. There are still a few dates open for the remainder of the 2012 calendar while 2013 is starting to book.

Go to www.djmikeparent.com for more information about me and my services. Then email me about availability and services. Be sure to include as much information about your plans as possible so that I can give you a good quote when we talk about your plans. My email is mike@djmikeparent.com.

My packages include the use of wireless microphones (1 lapel and 1 handheld with another lapel and handheld available as add-ons) and standard lighting (with upgrades available).

I am happy to also offer free consultations to help with planning and to answer any questions. What are you looking for in a DJ? I welcome your thoughts, ideas or questions.

More Weddings Ahead and Projector now available

How are your wedding or event plans coming together? Things are getting busier as we are in the midst of the "wedding season." There are still some open dates for the rest of the summer and fall if you are still looking for your wedding DJ / entertainment. Requests are also coming in for 2013 wedding dates in the Danville, San Ramon, East Bay and other surrounding areas.

I have also recently added a projector to the available additional services. The projector and screen can be added to any DJ package. I have had more requests for the projector service for slideshows at weddings recently which prompted me to add this service. I use a quality high lumens and high contrast projector to make it work as well as it can in varied lighting situations.

Go to www.djmikeparent.com and email me at mike@djmikeparent.com for more information. I provide as full a service as I can by acting as MC handling announcements, introductions and time line management and coordination. I work with the other vendors to make things go smoothly. I also offer free consultations to help with planning and to answer any questions along the way.

Let me know what you look for when searching for a DJ and other vendors.

I look forward to hearing from and speaking with you.

Summer wedding event season is almost here.

As summer approaches we are heading into the busier wedding season. More East Bay, Danville, and San Ramon weddings are coming up. There are also some open dates still available for the summer and fall while more requests are coming in for 2013 already.

As you think about your DJ or entertainment for your wedding or other event please visit www.djmikeparent.com for more information about my services and experience. It can be difficult to feel like you are getting a good value for the services you are getting. The cheapest price isn't always the best price or best value in the end.
With my DJ services I do not charge extra for standard lighting where lighting is appropriate as well as for using wireless microphone(s). I am also happy to offer free consultations to assist with planning and to answer questions along the way.

I will also be using Skype as a way to communicate with out of town clients for destination weddings and events. Let me know your thoughts on this option. I am always interested in hearing what your thoughts and priorities are when looking for a DJ or entertainer.

Event season getting busier & booking suggestions

We are getting into the busier part of event season with East Bay and North Bay weddings and other local events. I just had a wedding in Sonoma last week and it was a great time. There are still some open dates coming up if you are still looking to find your DJ for your wedding or other special event.

What are you looking for when thinking about finding your DJ?
How do you prioritize the considerations in your decision about your DJ?
How are you searching for your DJ and other vendors?

I don't participate in the sites that have vendors pay to "bid" on events or for your contact information. As you look for your DJ know that you won't find me on those listings. I do look forward to speaking with you about your event and entertainment plans.

Please send me your questions or comments at mike@djmikeparent.com and visit www.djmikeparent.com.

Recent engagements means more wedding plans are in the works.

With more couples engaged over the holidays or Valentine's Day wedding plans are being made and booking inquiries are coming in. Make sure to get in touch early to get the vendors you want while they / we are still available.
Whether you are planning your wedding for next month or next year there are some dates I still have open and I would be happy to talk about your plans. I am happy to offer free consultations to assist with planning and to answer any questions.

Here are some questions for you:
What are you looking for in your DJ or Entertainer?
What is your view of how your wedding will be?
What music do you want for the soundtrack of your special event?
Will you want ceremony music? Cocktail hour Music?

When you look into vendors try to look deeper into the "value" of the services rather than just price. It can be difficult to compare different services with different prices and offerings.
My pricing includes the use of wireless microphone(s) (one handheld and one lapel as needed with wired backup handheld) and standard lighting with upgrades available as needed.
I work to keep pricing fair (probably low for my experience and services) by basing it on what is being requested. I consider the time, location, number of system set ups needed and any other services requested.

I also act as MC handling announcements, introductions and timeline management and coordination.

For more information and to schedule a time to talk about your plans please go to www.djmikeparent.com and email mike@djmikeparent.com.
